Sony Classical release the original soundtrack for Woody Allen’s Café Society. The soundtrack includes a great compilation of the music from the 1930’s, largely from the Rodgers and Hart catalogue, chosen by Allen and featured prominently in the film. The album includes original performances by Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks as well as the on-screen performance of “Mountain Greenery”. Set in the 1930s the movie follows Bronx-born Bobby Dorfman to Hollywood, where he falls in love, and back to New York, where he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life... Being a period movie, the music to Café Society is an integral part of the overall atmosphere. So fans of the film will no doubt welcome the opportunity to soak up this atmosphere in their own homes. And, even if you haven't see the movie, this soundtrack is an interesting snapshot of life in the '30s. There's a nice mix of popular songs and jazz standards. As a musical souvenir of the movie, they don't come more impressive than this.
