Filmtrax release Marcelo Zarvos's score for Cell. In the movie, Clay Riddell, a New England artist, is a witness to an ugly phenomenon: a mysterious signal broadcast over the global cell phone network turns the majority of his fellow humans into mindless vicious animals. Now he and a few survivors must find and stop 'the pulse' and the person controlling it and reunite with his young son before it's too late...

Marcelo Zarvos has delivered some impressive scores in recent years (The Bay, Beastly, The Face of Love, Reaching for the Moon and The Words). For Cell he delivers an atmospheric collection of music cues and while it's nothing to get excited about, it works incredibly well for the movie, sitting quietly in the background heightening the onscreen action.

The score contains 17 tracks (43 min, 18 sec) and while it's not the sort of soundtrack I'd listen to for pleasure, it does offer a varied collection of themeless cues.

Personally, I feel that it's a score that shouldn't be listened to outside of the film it was composed for, but those that like atmospheric music cues, that go nowhere, might like to give this a listen.
