Varèse Sarabande release Brian Tyler's score for Now You See Me 2. In the movie, The Four Horseman return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate... Right from the off, this score stands out as one that grabs your attention. The opening track 'Now You See Me 2 Fanfare' is worthy of an epic superhero movie score. In places this reminded me of a classic John Williams score, whilst in other places there's an air of John Barry's early jazz based scores crossed with Nelson Riddle's '60s Batman TV scores ('Sleight Of Hand'). There are also modern, electronic action themes ('Trifecta'). The soundtrack contains 24 tracks (1 hr, 17 min, 28 sec) and the most impressive aspect is the fact that the album is so diverse. This is one of those rare breed of soundtracks where almost every track holds something to grab your attention. While fans of the film will enjoy this, general score collectors will also be impressed with what Tyler has managed to deliver here. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
