Lakeshore Records release Stephen Raynor-Endelman's score for Greater. The movie tells the story of Brandon Burlsworth who is the greatest walk-on story in the history of college football. The small-town Burlsworth had always dreamed of playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks, but was considered too short and too fat to play Division I football. Undeterred, Brandon took a financial and emotional risk by walking on to the team in 1994. Despite criticism from teammates and coaches alike, Brandon succeeded in the face of staggering odds. He was taken as an early NFL draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts. The overly-fat kid who was once considered an embarrassment by teammates and an annoyance by his coaches, ended up becoming the most respected player in the history of the program, changing the lives of all he touched... Stephen Raynor-Endelman's score for Greater contains 16 tracks (35 min, 54 sec) and is part light and fluffy nonsense and part James Horner-esque in style (most notably in tracks like 'We Trust'). It's an enjoyable, mellow, upbeat score with quite a few interesting themes at its core. And it also contains a number of sweet, melancholic tracks ('High School Coach' and 'Stadium' being the best examples). There's a little something here for everyone's tastes... but basically if you're a fan of Horner's work in the '80s and '90s you'll find much to enjoy here. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
