The Parrots, Diego García (vocals / guitar), Alex de Lucas (bass) and Larry Balboa (drums), are a loose-hipped, primordial rock ‘n’ roll band from Madrid who met at university in the city and evolved from the same firmament of like-minded artists, photographers, DJs and musicians that recently spawned the acclaimed band Hinds... The Parrots have a distinct fuzzy, almost early stereo, sound of the '60s about them. This will either endear them to you, or prove a little distracting. For me, this wasn't a sound I particularly got on with. Los Niños Sin Miedo, their new album, is a little rough around the edges, but gives them their own trademark sound. The album contains 10 tracks (25 min, 29 sec) a very short running time in my opinion. I listened to this for over a week but just couldn't find much to praise about it. It's by no means a bad album, it's just that I couldn't really think of much to say about it. I'm no closer to it now than I was on the first play through. 5 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
