Varèse Sarabande release Patrick Watson's score for The 9th Life of Louis Drax. The film tells the story of a young boy. After surviving eight near-death accidents throughout his unlucky life, Louis Drax plunges off a steep cliff on his ninth birthday. While police investigate the cause of Louis’ near-fatal fall and the whereabouts of his violent father Peter, acclaimed neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal uses unorthodox techniques to try to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind and reveal the truth about the events that led to his condition. But as he’s drawn deeper and deeper into the mystery of Louis’s seeming ability to cheat death, a shocking revelation changes the fates of Louis Drax and everyone around him... Patrick Watson turns in some incredibly beautiful melancholic themes with his score for The 9th Life of Louis Drax. The album opens with 'Louis Drax' which introduces us to the album's main theme. It's a wonderful way to start and sets the tone for what is to come. The album contains 17 tracks (35 min, 01 sec) and there's very little here not to like. Personal highlights include 'Louis Drax'; 'The Red Dress'; 'Underwater to Cave'; 'The Red Dress'; 'Hypnosis'; 'Before I Met Your Father'; and 'Nine Lives'; and coming full circle we close with 'The 9th Life Of Louis Drax'. The song 'Man Under The Sea (Orchestral)' is also an incredibly moving track and works well here. Watson turns in an emotional score that is well worth adding to your soundtrack collection. It's one you'll be digging out and playing for years to come. 10 Darren Rea Buy this item online
