Rock ‘N’ Roll Impotence involves re-workings of formerly scrapped material, the current roster of a typical Quick Piss set list, and brand new material that has been played maybe once or twice - if at all. In short, it’s a career-spanning album by a band that hasn’t had much of a career. Rock ‘N’ Roll Impotence is an incendiary care package for the fed up and fucked up... Rock 'N' Roll Impotence is the new album from Quick Piss. Instead of writing new material, it would appear that the band are incredibly pissed off and bored with the whole music scenes have decided to toss off this collection of previously discarded material. I'd argue that is was discarded for a reason... It's not very good. If the band's name's not enough to make your grandmother roll her eyes, then the album's cover artwork will do the trick: A sketch of an Alsatian police dog with a severed penis in its mouth (double shock horror!) Yes, it's the sort of band name and album cover you'd expect a 12 year old to come up with thinking they're being shocking. Maybe in 1952 this would have been controversial, who knows - or cares for that matter. We're given shocking, thought provoking insights like 666 is 999 (the UK's telephone number for the emergency services) upside down! Wow! Who would have thunk it? Clever... decades ago... if you'd been living in a cave with no human contact for all your life. If you can get past this rather infantile, and not very shocking at all, element of the band what are we left with? A rather bland punk band that delivers some interesting tracks but in a rather tired and cliched fashion. If you're a fan of the band then you'll probably get a kick out of this, but then you probably enjoy listening to the water as it drains out of your bath. 2 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
