Steve London's original game soundtrack has been released for Halcyon 6, Massive Damage's retro sci-fi strategy RPG with a unique blend of base building, exploration and deep tactical combat system with capital starships and their idiosyncratic officers.

It's an interesting score, containing 15 tracks (57 min, 27 sec). I always find it amusing how many games set in the future have retro synth sounding scores, but it works incredibly well here.

There are numerous highlights including 'Look at the Size of That Thing!' (which brought to mind Lorne Balfe's music for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2); 'The Yabbling' (which sounds very similar to the classic Sonic the Hedgehog music); and the hauntingly beautiful 'Known Galaxy' (which appears to pay homage to James Horner's work on Aliens).

It's an interesting electronic score with plenty of retro appeal.
