Welsh singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Ruth releases her new album Fossil Scale, the follow up to 2013’s Week Of Pines...
Fossil Scale is a rather impressive folk album from Georgia Ruth. It sounds strange, but in places I was reminded of the music of Phil Collins (especially on tracks like 'The Bodies'). While, obviously, Ruth doesn't sound like Collins, vocally, some of the tracks are very similar in style.
The album contains 12 (49 min, 10 sec) slow, mellow tracks. From song to song the diversity of Ruth's style is impressive. This is an album that just gets better the more you listen to it. There isn't a dull track here - no filler material at all. This is pure quality from start to finish.
If you're looking for a soft, beautiful folk album that's easily accessible to all, then this could be your new favourite album.
