Melbourne-spawned instrumental-duo Civil Civic release their second album, The Test, through Gross Domestic Product. A number of labels could be thrown in their direction to boil down their sound for the uninitiated: futurist prog, epic math-rock, electro-goth, post-rock, glacier-sized chillwave – but none do the duo justice. The Test is an ambient clubbing album that is ideal to play as you're getting ready to go out or to wind down the morning after. It's funky, it's cool and it delivers a mind trip of its very own. It's like a mellow, modern trance album. Of this album's 8 tracks (39 min, 23 sec) personal highlight include 'The Mirror' and 'The Slide'. Electronic dance fans will get a huge blast out of this deep and varied album. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
