Sony Music and Madison Gate Records release highlights of Bear McCreary's score for the second season of Outlander... I wasn't a huge fan of the two album's released for the first season of Outlander (which was spread across two album's as Vol. 1 and Vol.2). It's not that it was terrible, just that there was too much focus on music from the 18th Century (or of an 18th Century style). Season 2's soundtrack incorporates a few similar tracks, but the majority is given over to McCreary's incredibly intricate and rather beautiful music. And even the songs are more enjoyable - 'Outlander - The Skye Boat Song (French Version)' being the most notable example. Of this album's 22 tracks (1 hr, 16 min, 41 sec), personal highlights include 'Leave the Past Behind'; 'Faith'; 'Destiny on Culloden Moor'; and 'A Fraser Officer Survived'. Another beautiful collection of themes from McCreary. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
