Daniel Woolhouse (formerly known as Deptford Goth) releases his new album What's That Sound? via label 37 Adventures. The album gets off on the right footing with 'Crazy Water', an upbeat track that will rattle around in your head for days to come. However, the album soon slips into a comfortable zone in which it seems to be unable to recover. While the rest of the LP is interesting enough, there's nothing that really grabs you and makes you feel like giving it a second play. Of this album's 11 tracks (39 min, 18 sec) I only really warmed to the aforementioned 'Crazy Water', 'Graffiti' and the Talking Heads-esque 'Tomorrow's Egg'. It's a competent enough outing, it's just that it could have been so much more. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
