Bleu Roi released their debut LP Of Inner Cities. This four-piece use the inspiration of the Nordic sound of the likes of José González and Sigur Rós. Over the course of these 11 tracks (37 min, 36 sec) we get to flesh out the world of Bleu Roi. The haunting vocals of Jennifer Jans are easily this album's most memorable feature. Her range is varied and fairly wide and she effortlessly slips from track to track. It's an easily accessible collection of songs that grow on you the more times you play it. While it's hardly an album that you're likely to dig out in the future, as an LP of the here and now this is an enjoyable listen. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
