Ten years on, Islands is celebrating the release of their seminal debut album, Return to the Sea, with a classy anniversary reissue. The LP has been given a light but firm remaster and pressed to 2 x 180 gram vinyl at 45rpm. The artwork has received a tasteful touch-up, with gatefold, printed inner sleeves, archival photos never before released, and an in-depth essay about the album’s creation by Mr. Diamonds himself... For those of us who still fondly dig out Islands's 2007 album Return to the Sea every now and again, this 10th anniversary vinyl reissue is something you'll be keen to add your music collection. The album contains 11 songs (55 min, 17 sec) and still sounds as fresh and as exciting as when it was originally released. From the upbeat 'Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby' to the Penguin Cafe Orchestra-esque 'Tsuxiit' the one thing that's obvious from the first play through is how diverse this album is. It takes in so many genres and musical styles that at different times in your life you'll find a new favourite here. Is it worth rebuying something you already own? In this case, Yes. Yes it is. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
