Sony Classical and Madison Gate Records release the soundtrack to Fences which features the movie's original score by Marcelos Zarvos as well as a handful of songs by various artists. Fences is the story of Troy Maxson, a mid-century Pittsburgh sanitation worker who once dreamed of a baseball career, but was too old when the major leagues began admitting black players. He tries to be a good husband and father, but his lost dream of glory eats at him, and causes him to make a decision that threatens to tear his family apart... Marcelo Zarvos turns in another subtle, beautiful score here. If you're looking for a laid back, album to relax to while you read, then you could do much worse than this. Zarvos produces some incredible themes here - nothing earth shattering or truly memorable, just an interesting collection of sweet moments. The soundtrack contains 17 tracks (59 min, 48 sec) with highlights including 'They Could Do Nothing for Her'; 'Confession'; and 'God's Closet'. While this won't be to everyone's taste, if you're a fan of Zarvos, then you'll be pleased to hear that this is one of his more interesting albums to date. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
