Adam, a thirteen-year-old outsider, sets out on a daring quest to uncover the mystery behind his long-lost dad - only to discover he is the legendary Bigfoot! As father and son start making up for lost time, Adam soon discovers that he too is gifted with superpowers beyond his imagination. But little do they know, HairCo. the giant corporation Bigfoot is hiding from, is hot on their tails as Adams tracks have led them straight to him...

The Son of Bigfoot is the latest film to come from nWave Pictures, a Belgian-American animation studio which has produced a number of modern family classics including Robinson Crusoe (2016), The House of Magic (2013) and A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures (2010).

As family animated adventures go The Son of Bigfoot ticks all the right boxes - even if the main character of Alex seems to have the '80s fashion sense of Back to the Future's Marty McFly. It's got a coming of age tale at its core, a rather silly villain and plenty of action and adventure. While it brings nothing new to the table, it's still an enjoyable romp.

The animation is also pretty impressive. One thing that worried me a little was a scene where the bully says to Adam: "Lets go bug the goats in the petting zoo". At least that's what the subtitles say. But I've listened to it numerous times and there's no way that this one accidentally slipped through. All I hear "Let's go f*ck the goats in the petting zoo".

It's a fun and engaging family movie that parents can enjoy just as much as the kids.
