Lakeshore Records release the soundtrack for Patriots Day. The album features an original score by Academy Award winning composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The film is the powerful story of a community’s courage in the face of adversity during the Boston Marathon bombings... Given the emotionally delicate subject matter of this movie the soundtrack is a strange mix of styles. That's not to say it's not an interesting score, it's just I was surprised at how diverse the music was. We open with 'Them and Us', which feels like your run of the mill atmospheric music, while 'Broken Glass' couldn't be further from this in style. And while 'Broken Glass' doesn't make for a comfortable listen, it vividly paints a picture with its layered soundscape. The album contains 12 tracks (1 hr, 08 min, 34 sec) and while it's an interesting enough score, it's not one that I'd really enjoy listening to too often. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
