Written in Ibiza and recorded in Sheffield with Ross Orton (MIA, Arctic Monkeys, The Fall) Lemon Memory is the new album from Menace Beach. It's the sound of a band finding their own identity, edging closer to some sort of grimy truth. As well as the CD and digital release, there's a limited edition 180g Yellow LP with scratch and sniff sleeve... Lemon Memory is a grimy, fuzzed up indie rock album that is greater than the sum of its parts. This is no tossed out collection of lazy garage style tracks, each and every song has been carefully constructed to slot together to give the listener a good mix of the styles that Menace Beach can master. Over the course of this album's 10 tracks (37 min, 17 sec), highlights include the chilled 'Maybe We'll Drown'; the trippy vibe of 'Lemon Memory'; the classic indie rock feel of 'Darlatoid'; and the retro sounding 'Suck It Out'. This is an impressive album which should start your year off on the right foot and at least see you through until the autumn. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
