Following hot on the heels of her Liquorice EP, as well as track 'Dodged A Bullet', English singer Alice Jemima releases her debut, self titled, LP. As soft crooning goes, they don't come much softer than Alice Jemima. At times she almost whispers her vocals ('Liquorice', for example). The result is an intriguing, beautiful sound that is hard not to get sucked in by. The album contains 12 tracks (36 min, 41 sec) and for a debut is pretty impressive. There's also an interesting collection of styles thrown into the mix. This isn't some quickly thrown together manufactured pop album. Jemima has carefully crafted a diverse range of musical styles to bring us something a little more intriguing to a standard debut album. From the stripped back dance track 'So' to the Gorillaz-esque 'When You Dance', there's something here to appeal to just about everyone. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
