Lakeshore Records release Hauschka's score for In Dubious Battle. Set in California apple country in the 1930s, nine hundred migratory workers rise up and join forces to protest unfair wages and working conditions. As the labour strike wears on and conflict grows between the apple pickers and the local growers' association, what begins as a fight for their rights turns into an all-out battle for survival in this star-studded re-telling of John Steinbeck's beloved novel... Hauschka turns in an entertaining score for In Dubious Battle. It's a soundtrack that works, in the main, just as well as a standalone album as it does accompanying the onscreen action. There's a central main theme that peppers the tracks, which is instantly memorable, but thankfully the album doesn't just lean on just the one theme. It's an atmospheric and engaging album that adds its own voice to the movie. The album contains 21 tracks (47 min, 46 sec) and well worth adding to your soundtrack collection. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
