Ready to Travel is Siks Haedo's second album and represents an eclectic journey from jazz to classical music to African music. The album opens with 'Dernier Train' which perfectly throws us in at the deep end and gives us an idea of what to expect. Siks Haedo claims so many genres on this album that it's a wonder to behold. Obviously, there's the Jazz element, which is the most obvious, but he also dips his toe into Soundtrack, modern Classical and African. In fact 'News From Maghreb' (my personal favourite track) pretty much showcases just how diverse Haedo's style is. The LP contains 6 tracks (38 min, 35 sec) and works best when listened to from start to finish, as it's carefully constructed to allow you to experience the layers as they are unwrapped. This is a laid back, very cool album that you'll get years of listening pleasure out of. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
