Beth Levin delivers another collection of classical pieces with her latest album Bright Circle, an exquisitely programmed showcase of the interconnectivity underlying the tradition of solo piano in Classical music. For this release, Levin navigates the romantic masterpieces of Schubert and Brahms, and their modern counterpart – David Del Tredici’s 2014 work, 'Ode To Music'. Levin places Del Tredici within the context of Schubert’s 'Piano Sonata No. 20' and Brahms’ 'Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel'. It's an interesting choice, and one that works incredibly well. Levin's passion for the pieces comes though in playing and it's plain to see that these are pieces that she has a particular fondness for. For those who love solo piano performances, you're in for a treat. Track listing: Franz Schubert Johannes Brahms David Del Tredici 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
