Lakeshore Records release Alec Puro's original score for All Nighter. The movie follows a workaholic father who attempts to visit his daughter during a layover in LA, only to discover that she’s disappeared. He is forced to team up with her awkward ex-boyfriend to find her over the course of one transformative night... Alec Puro delivers a rather twee score for All Nighter. While I can see it adds much comedy and atmosphere to the film it just sounds a little too sickly sweet in isolation. It's also incredibly short, the 16 tracks come in at just 25 min, 43 sec. It's mainly comprised of background music cues and filler material - the sort of score that you expect to be composed independently from the movie, without the composer seeing the scenes they're scoring for. In this instance Puro casts his net wide which means the director and editor can easily cut and paste the music anywhere they like. This is probably not the case at all, but it's how it felt to me. While it is quirky, this is one score best left heard in the movie it was intended for. 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
