Lakeshore Records release Fil Eisler's score for Chips. Jon Baker and Frank Ponch Poncherello have just joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles, but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten-up former pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside job - inside the CHP... Think of every comedy buddy cop movie you've seen. If this immediately brings to mind cliched 'doing stuff' music then you'll not be surprised to learn that this is exactly what Fil Eisler delivers with his score for Chips. It's not that it's a bad score, it's actually rather varied and interesting in places, it's just that you've heard everything here a thousand times before. The album contains 29 tracks (40 min, 11 sec). In all honesty it's a functional, by the numbers score, and nothing more. One nice touch was the brief homage to the original Chips TV series theme in 'Opening Titles (CHIPS Theme)' and 'End Titles (CHIPS Theme)' 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
