Caldera Records release Zeltia Montes original score for the 2014 motion picture A Esmorga. Based on Eduardo Blanco Amor’s novel of the same title it tells the story of three struggling men and accompanies them for 24 hours while they roam through the city, visit the pubs and brothels, before they find their tragic end... The music for A Esmorga is beautify laid back. Composed entirely for piano, the score is subtle and melancholic and is so easy to get comfortable with. The soundtrack contains three main themes which pepper the 14 tracks (50 min), of these 13 (38 min, 02 sec) are music from the film, while the final track (11 min, 58 sec) is an interview with the composer. As always with Caldera's soundtrack releases, the interview is a welcome addition, giving the listener an insight into the composers background, ideas and approach to composing. It's a touching, almost sentimental score that will be warmly embraced by lovers of simple, stripped back scores. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
