The Weeks release their new album, Easy, through Lightning Rod Records. The band's front man, Cyle Barnes, reveals that they titled the album because when they make music together it's easy: "It feels good. But the other side of it is there’s nothing easy about being in a band. There’s nothing easy about staying together for ten years and still wanting to make music. We have the hardest and easiest job on the planet. But it works for us." At its heart, Easy is a good old fashioned soft Rock album, although brought kicking and screaming into the here and now. The album contains 11 songs (41 min, 56 sec) and there are so many highlights here that it's hard to know where to start. 'Ike' was a personal favourite. The addition of the occasional blast on a Wurlitzer-esque organ helps to to add another level of fun to what is already an upbeat and catchy number. Likewise, 'Ain't Dancin'' was another memorable song. I've been listening to this for several weeks now and on every play through I change my mind on which is my favourite song. One thing is certain, you'll get plenty of listening pleasure from this one. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
