Varèse Sarabande release the soundtrack to Julie's Greenroom. The album features songs performed by Broadway and screen legend Julie Andrews as well as guest stars such as Alec Baldwin, Carol Burnett, Ellie Kemper and Tony® and Emmy® award winning performer Dave Hyde Pierce. Also included on the soundtrack is the original score composed by Ryan Shore. Julie’s Greenroom is an all-new arts educational show for the very young starring Andrews and brought to life by the ingenious minds at The Jim Henson Company. All-new puppet friends - the Greenies - learn all about the arts (dance, singing, performing, painting, and more) from Ms. Julie herself... The soundtrack to Julie's Greenroom is aimed at young fans of the show - and so I'm reviewing it as such. On the first play through I found it annoying, so I was worried for the well being of parents whose kids will have this on a loop. But on the third or fourth listen I started to warm to it... In fact, I actually started to enjoy it. Young viewers will love the 27 tracks (35 min, 10 sec) of songs from the show. And dare I say, parents might also get something out of it too. There's a good selection of songs on this album and, while a little twee, Ryan Shore's score is fine. The musical numbers are catchy and you won't be able to stop yourself singing along to tracks like 'Let Your Voice be Heard'. For adults, yes it's one that has the potential to annoy, but this is miles ahead of the standard kid's show soundtrack. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
