WaterTower Music release Daniel Pemberton's soundtrack to filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s action adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. The album is released in both a 26-track standard edition available on CD and digitally, as well as a 30-track digital deluxe edition... I'm not sure what happened (and I'm not complaining either) but the official release is supposed to contains 26 tracks, with a digital deluxe edition offering 30 tracks... we were sent a 32 track (1 hr, 31 min, 06 sec) edition for review. To be fair, I don't think (unless you're a huge fan of the movie and the music) that it matters which edition of the score you pick up. While it's an enjoyable soundtrack, with some great themes, it does have a tendency to repeat itself a little too much. Daniel Pemberton does a great job of delivering something a little different, a little more creative than what you might be expecting. For that reason alone, this is a score that's worth giving a chance. The creative process involved collecting a weird orchestra of the strangest instruments and sounds the composer could find. The end results speak for themselves. It's certainly a very prominent character in the movie. I enjoyed it a great deal, but whether I'll be playing it much a year down the line is questionable. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
