Straddling the line between Indie and Folk music, Daudi Matsiko's new double EP, An Introduction to Failure, is a laid back, almost faultless collection of chilled out stripped back songs.

Matsiko's soft, raspy voice and laid bare guitar playing are the perfect distraction for a summer's evening. This double EP contains 8 tracks (30 min, 28 sec) of pure class. There's no filler material here. Artists of lesser merit would have added in a handful of rejected songs and released this as an album. Not so Matsiko, who lovingly crafts his art and releases it as he sees fit.

There's something intimate about his recordings here - as though each song is sung live as part of a private concert for the listener. It takes talent to pull that level of intimacy off. If you're not a fan, then this will convert you.
