Heavenly Recordings release I Romanticize, H. Hawkline's follow up album to 2015's In The Pink Of Condition. The LP contains 10 songs (45 min, 13 sec) and to be honest I found it a bit of a mixed bag. If I were being a lazy (and I suppose I am) I'd have to compare H. Hawkline's sound to a more trippy Talking Heads crossed with James. Some songs here I vaguely connected with, others not so much. 'Love Matters' I found to be oddly annoying; the slightly off key warblinng didn't help. In fact that's probably my biggest complaint, that Hawkline appears to be singing in a different key to the instruments... Whereas I really enjoyed tracks like 'Means that Much' and 'Engineers'... actually that was all, I'm afraid. It wasn't an album that I took much away from. The music is interesting, the vocals are grating. 5 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
