Lakeshore Records releases the soundtrack to Once Upon a Time in Venice which includes a score by Jeff Cardoni and songs by various artists. Steve Ford is a down but not out L.A. based Private Investigator whose professional and personal worlds collide after his loving pet Buddy is stolen by a notorious gang. A series of crazy circumstances find him doing the gang’s bidding, while being chased by two vengeful Samoan brothers, a loan shark’s goons, and a few other shady characters. They say a dog is a man’s best friend, and Steve shows how far a man will go to be reunited with him... The soundtrack to Once Upon a Time in Venice will only appeal to fans of the movie who also LOVE The Beach Boys. The album contains 15 tracks (37 min, 47 sec) and is made up of two very distinct styles. There's Jeff Cardoni's "doing stuff" music (you know the sort of style I'm talking about. That middle of the road score that accompanies scenes where characters are looking for something or doing some pointless task) and then there's '60s surfing style songs (think heavily influenced The Beach Boys's tracks and you won't go far wrong). There was nothing here that got me excited, or even remotely caught my attention, and there's only so many times you can hear a rip-off of 'Surfin'USA' without rolling your eyes. One for fans of the movie only. Track listing: 01. California Surf and Sun - Daniel Stimac 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
