The seven-episode HBO drama series starred Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Alexander Skarsgård and followed three mothers in the tranquil seaside town of Monterey, California whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.

I've forgotten the last time I heard a various artists album for a movie or TV series that serious impressed me - to the point that if I weren't reviewing it I'd probably have bought it. The soundtrack to Big Little Lies is one of those album's that has pretty much no low point: It represents memorable track after memorable track.

The album contains 14 songs (56 min, 52 sec) that pretty much defines the spirit of the show. Whether you're a fan of the series, or have never even seen it, this is one album that should be on your wish list.
