MovieScore Media release Joseph Conlan’s score for the Irish romantic comedy Sanctuary. Directed by Len Collin, the film features a cast of actors with intellectual disabilities, telling a heartfelt tale of love against the odds. Care worker Tom is tasked with taking a group to the cinema, but his charges disappear and to explore freedoms that most of us take for granted, such as shopping on one's own, or going for a drink in a bar. In the main storyline, Larry, who has Down's Syndrome and Sophie who has epilepsy, try to spend some romantic hours together, but laughter and tears make strange bedfellows... Joseph Conlan’s score for Sanctuary is a lighthearted, subtle affair. The release contains 14 tracks (24 min, 38 sec) and is more an EP than an album in its own right. On balance, it's a sweet, functional soundtrack that does exactly what it was designed to - heighten the onscreen comedy and the film's more tender, sweeter moments. While it's not likely to provide years of listening pleasure, if you're looking for a light and fluffy distraction there are quite a few interesting moments here. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
