French documentary Terreur et Glamour: Montée et Déclin du Studio Hammer (Terror and Glamour: The Rise and Fall of Hammer Studio) tells the story of the small British film company, which set itself apart from the other studios. Hammer, an independent studio that, between the mid-1950 and early 1970's, produced a number of movies which would have an unexpected cultural impact. What was its secret recipe? Its production featured quite a bit of blood, a little sex and a lot of horror... all in colour... Maximilien Mathevon's score for Terreur et Glamour is such an interesting release, that it's hard not to fall in love with it. It's an electronic score - something which normally leaves me cold - but in this instance he really has captured the quirky charm of the Hammer brand. The album contains 24 tracks (48 min, 14 sec) which not only act as a great backdrop to the documentary, but also works as a standalone album. If you've seen the movie then you'll be eager to add this score to your music library. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
