So another collection of classic songs sung by Richard Thompson... and I want to like it, I really do. Thompson is a musical genius... but singing is not his thing. So, sad to say, once again (as with Vol. I) he pretty much butchers each and every song here. The album contains 14 songs (54 min, 37 sec) and is made up of acoustic renderings of classic songs from Thompson's catalogue, some previously recorded by other singers, some previously available only in a band format. Yes he plays beautifully, but his singing leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. He sounds like your dad... and it's not a pleasant listening experience. Track listing: 01.
