Norwegian psychedelicists Dig Deeper, release their latest album, In Central European Time. It tells the story of life as a refugee; the risk, the journey, the expectation and the sad conclusion of often being met with hostility by the rest of the world. In the past, Dig Deeper have used their music to criticise their country’s right-wing government, but this is the first of their material that sees them look at the big picture and translate it into a bigger musical concept. While it sounds nothing like Boston's Third Stage, musically, I couldn't help be reminded of that album when listening to In Central European Time. The ongoing story arc that links the tracks together, the diversity of the music and the overall feeling of listening to a musical novel ring true in both albums. The album contains 6 tracks (41 min, 03 sec) and is one that sounds interesting on the first play through, and just grows on you the more times you listen to it. 'The Ticket' sounded vaguely reminiscent of Pink Floyd with a Country twang. It's an interesting release that is well worth investing a little time in. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
