Two years have passed since Gothenburg-based band Pale Honey (Tuva Lodmark and Nelly Daltrey) released their self titled debut album. Devotion is their second LP and illustrates how the band has matured. Devotion is a much more polished affair, although I have to admit I'm still not a huge fan of their sound. Like my views on their debut release, you're never really close to understanding what the band are all about, or getting to know the songs. After weeks of listening to this I was no closer to the songs than on the first play through. There was nothing memorable or engaging about either the tracks or the performances. This album is more enjoyable than their previous release, but if you didn't enjoy that then there's little here to get excited about. If you're a fan of the band's output then you'll no doubt lap this up. 6 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
