Comet'Style 2 - Ellipse 16/17 is the follow up to 2014's Comet'Style. Take a trip with pianist-singer Bruno Desplan, François-Pierre Camin on double bass and Isabelle Guidon on percussion. In these 11 songs, the alchemy of these three musicians weaves a poetic jazz style where words, sounds, harmonies of an original universe is constructed to enhance the listening experience delivering something a little different... Firstly, if you're not a fan of Jazz you'll find nothing new here to change your mind on the genre. However Jazz fans will find much of interest here. The LP contains 11 songs (1 hr, 17 min, 32 sec) and while on occasion it can have a tendency to be a little self indulgent, on the whole this is a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Rather than staying with what they know, the trio stick their neck on the line from time to time to deliver something a little different. There's a healthy dose of improvisational pieces which help to keep things fresh. While interesting it really is only really going to be embraced by Jazz fans that also like a little experimentation thrown in for good measure. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
