Demon Records release Alex Heffes's score for Earth: One Amazing Day. A landmark in cinematic wildlife filmmaking, the film dramatically brings to life the crucial role the sun plays in shaping the destinies of life-forms on the planet, including ourselves. It’s a spectacular vision of the rhythms of day and night and how a relationship with the sun binds every species together...

As you'd expect, given the movie's subject matter, Alex Heffes's score for Earth: One Amazing Day is incredibly diverse. But one thing unites each track: they're pretty much a masterclass in how to stage beautiful, epic set pieces.

While there are a number of tracks that appear to "borrow" heavily from other sources (the opening of 'Iguanas Vs. Snakes' is very reminiscent of John Williams's 'Emperor's Throne Room' from Return of the Jedi; whilst 'Waltz Of The Flowers' is not a million miles away from Danny Elfman's score for Edward Scissorhands) the majority of this album is packed with original and memorable themes.

The score contains 30 tracks (1 hr, 18 min, 25 sec). It's one of those albums that you'll love on the first play through and then just seems to get richer and more enjoyable the more times you play it.

A beautiful, engaging score.
