MovieScore Media and Quartet Records join forces to release Cyrille Aufort’s energetic score for Lorraine Lévy’s comedy starring Omar Sy in the title Role. Knock is a classic French play which has been adapted for the big screen several times. It tells the story of Doctor Knock who arrives to a town whose patients are too healthy. By using his charming personality and cunning deceit, the good doctor convinces everybody about having some sort of great illness. But when he meets the beautiful Adéle, his plan may very well fall through… There are two themes that run throughout this score that appear to pay homage to the work of John Williams. The first (most notably housed in 'Theme from Knock') is similar in style to Williams's work on The Witches of Eastwick. Likewise tracks like 'Adele' house a theme that is reminiscent of Williams's music for the Harry Potter movies. In fact, the two are woven together rather beautifully in 'Promise Me to be Happy'. The score contains 18 tracks (34 min, 33 sec) and I have to admit I've had a blast listening to this and I know I'll be returning to it a lot in the future. It's an uplifting and enjoyable soundtrack that doesn't disappoint. 10 Darren Rea Buy this item online
