Daniel Carlson releases his latest album, Not A Drawing, through Folkwit Records This LP won't be to everyone's tastes. For starters Carlson's vocals are not the most pitch perfect. But the overall vibe is hard not to instantly warm to. This release is a little less Burt Bacharach and Cold Play, as his 2014 album Me You You Me was, and a little more Pink Floyd. Of this album's 8 songs (32 min, 38 sec), personal favourites include 'Home' and 'Farther, Faster, Safer'. Mainly these stuck with me for their trippy, dream like quality. Carlson is a little like Marmite. Although, I'd argue that more people will love what he produces than enjoy the taste of Marmite. Overall, this is a warm, release that is easy to whole-heartedly embrace. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
