Nitin Sawhney has built a reputation, over the course of almost three decades, of showcasing that he's a man of numerous musical talents. Over the years he has produced award-winning studio works including 10 albums, soundtracks for both TV and movie projects, as well as dance and theatre productions... not to forget his DJ sets. Live At Ronnie Scott's is his new live album featuring highlights from his career... With a career as long and varied as Nitin Sawhney's how on earth do you chose a set to ensure you appease your fans, while attracting new listeners? Fans of Sawhney will love what he delivers here. The album was recorded over a three-night residency at the legendary Ronnie Scott's in Soho, London, during March 2016, and features highlights from his 10 studio albums, including 1999’s Mercury Music Prize nominated Gold awarded Beyond Skin; Prophesy (2001); and Dystopian Dream(2015). Of the album's 10 tracks (44 min, 12 sec) 'Nadia' was my personal favourite track. It's hauntingly beautiful. If you're not familiar with all the tracks here, then you'll need a little time to immerse yourself in Sawhney's world. I have to admit that I was only familiar with a handful of the tracks, and it took me over two weeks to appreciate this album fully. Track listing: 01 - Sunset 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
