Varèse Sarabande release the Only the Brave – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which features the original music composed by Joseph Trapanese. The movie, based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, is the heroic story of one unit of local firefighters that through hope, determination, sacrifice, and the drive to protect families, communities, and their country become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the nation. As most run from danger, they run toward it - they watch over our lives, our homes, everything we hold dear, as they forge a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire... Joseph Trapanese's (Tron: Uprising) score for Only the Brave is one that you'll get a lot out of if you're prepared to give it a chance and listen to it several times. On the first play through it's interesting, but nothing special. It's only on repeat listens that you start to get a feel for the music. Scratch the atmospheric background feel that is your first impression and you'll discover a beating heart that resonates throughout the entire score. The album contains 18 tracks (58 min, 39 sec) and I was impressed at how Trapanese had composed something that is subtle, yet has an underlying charm that brings another dimension to the onscreen action. If you're looking for something a little different, a score you can invest a little time with, then this is worth adding to your collection. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
