Thierry Malet's score for L’Oeil du Cyclone is released through Plaza Mayor. Emma, a young lawyer, is the daughter of a jeweller, former sales manager of a diamond mining company. As a child, she had to be evacuated with her entire family, during the occupation of the mining areas by a rebel movement that, twenty years later, continues to resist the government forces, not hesitating to commit the worst atrocities... I really enjoyed Thierry Malet's score for L'oeil du Cyclone, although I know it won't be to everyone's tastes. The opening 'Transfer of the Prisoner' brought to mind John Williams's 'Incident at Isla Nublar' from Jurassic Park (1993). While 'Pictures' reminded me of James Horner's work on Jumanji (1995). Out of the album's 16 tracks (34 min, 45 sec). It's a subtle, slow burner which doesn't disappoint. If atmospheric background music with good, solid themes are your thing, then you should enjoy this score. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
