Milan Records release Tamar-kali's original score for Mudbound, which includes the Mary J. Blige song 'Mighty River. The film is an American period drama, based on the acclaimed novel of the same name by Hillary Jordan. It follows a pair of World War II veterans who return home to rural Mississippi and must cope with racism and PTSD in their own ways...

Tamar-kali (Pariah) delivers a powerful, string-driven score for Mudbound. The album contains 30 tracks (50 min, 58 sec) with the main highlight for me being the incredibly beautiful '..but for love'.

There are a number of various artists tracks including 'Might River' (Mary J. Bilge); 'Glory Glory' (Odetta); 'Harlem Shout' (The Ek-Stompers); '(My Darling) It's You, Only You (The Ek-Stompers); and ' Moonray' (The Ek-Stompers).

It's an interesting score and while not an essential purchase, Tamar-kali's music certainly adds a lot of character to the the movie.
