Sony Music release Volker Bertelmann's (Hauschka) score for HBO's TV series Gunpowder... The problems of going by two names when you're a composer is perfectly illustrated with Volker Bertelmann's (aka Hauschka) score for Gunpowder. If you search for "Volker Bertelmann Gunpowder" you won't find anything on the main online stores. Whereas "Hauschka Gunpowder" finds it straight away. While it's not a huge deal - if you're desperate to track it down I'm sure you'll eventually find it - it does mean that it's not instantly accessible. The music is subtle and atmospheric and manages, for the most part, to sit in the background without causing too much attention to itself, and that will either be its strong or weak point, depending on your point of view. The album contains 17 tracks (44 min, 47 sec) and while not an essential purchase, there are enough interesting themes to make it of interest to fans of the show. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
