Calling all pencil jockeys! Now’s your chance! Colour in Jamie Hewlett’s masterful artwork in ways he could never have dreamed of! Go mental all over Brett Parson’s beautiful line art from Two Girls One Tank! Page after page of classic and rare images, whole comic pages, and much more, just waiting for you and your crayons! This book collects the best Tank Girl artwork from across 30 epic years – from the dawn of her career to the blazing midsummer’s day of her current tenure – all cobbled together by Tank Girl co-creator Alan Martin! 80 pants-dropping pages in glorious, full black and white…! Well, really! I appreciate that Alan Martin and his artists might be feeling tired after working on so many books to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tank Girl, but it’s a bit cheeky of them to expect us to colour in the drawings for them! Actually, adult colouring books are all the rage nowadays, so perhaps the time is right for a Tank Girl version – which is definitely not suitable for children! I mean, there are boobs, blood, guns and lots of smoking going on in here! The book’s 80 pages use an abrasively absorbent paper stock that would be rough on the backside but is perfect for mopping up beer… or watercolours! Though the strip’s original artist Jamie Hewlett gets top billing in the blurb, a larger proportion of the interior art is the work of current Tank Girl commander Brett Parson. That’s a good thing, as Parson’s art works better in this context, because it was drawn to be coloured in – whereas Hewlett’s work was often intended to be presented in black and white, and so contains a lot of shading. Per page, the price is high compared to similar products on the market – admittedly many of which don’t use copyrighted characters. But if it’s Tank Girl and her friends that you want to deface with your paints or pens, then this is the book for you. 5 Richard McGinlay Buy this item online
