WaterTower Music release the soundtrack to Downsizing. The album features original score by Rolfe Kent and the original song 'A Little Change In The Weather', co-written by Kent and performed by The Swingles... Of all the Rolfe Kent score's I've listened to over the years, I have to admit that I found this to be one of the most enjoyable. It's got a ring of '80s/'90s family movies about it. There are elements in here that reminded me of James Horner's work on films like Honey I Shrunk the Kids (most notable in tracks like 'Ngoc Guides Paul Upriver and to the Other Side of the Track'), given the similar plot elements of both movies it seems likely this was either a subtle homage, or was used as the temp track before Kent was brought in to score. 'Five Inches Tall and All Alone' offers an operatic version of the film's song ''A Little Change In The Weather' (which closes the album and is a light, fluffy and thoroughly enjoyable mellow song). This is a well constructed score with plenty of subtle little moments to savour and enjoy. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
