Varèse Sarabande release The Long Road Home score. The album features original music composed by Emmy®-Award winning composer Jeff Beal. On 04 April 2004, the First Cavalry Division from Fort Hood was ferociously ambushed in Sadr City, Baghdad-- a day that later came to be known as "Black Sunday." Based on Martha Raddatz’s best-selling book, The Long Road Home chronicles their heroic fight for survival, as well as their families' agonizing wait on the home front back in Texas... Not only does Jeff Beal (House of Cards; An Inconvenient Sequel Truth to Power; Boston; Dovekeepers; Jesse Stone: The Ultimate Collection; The Putin Interviews; The Queen of Versailles) deliver some beautifully intricate themes for The Long Road Home, but Varèse Sarabande do it justice by releasing the score as a 2-disc album (34 tracks. 1 hr, 38 min, 33 sec). While at times this can be uplifting, it's mainly a collection of beautiful melancholic themes. This is one of those albums that just gets better the more times you listen to it. It's one of those scores which works best if played through from start to finish, as the themes slowly build throughout the album. If you're a fan of Beal's output, you won't be disappointed as he delivers yet another wonderful album packed with intricate, multi-layered themes. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
