Cretan lute player George Xylouris and Australian drummer Jim White together are Xylouris White. Mother is their latest album, containing 9 songs (36 min, 11 sec). I wasn't a huge fan of this album. Their World Music sound is interesting, but hardly world shattering, nor do they really bring anything new and exciting to the fore. 'Only Love' is about the only track on the album that was memorable, but it sounded more like something System of a Down would have put out in the '90s. This was very much an album I endured to write a review, rather than something I enjoyed. I really didn't warm to either Xylouris White's music or song writing skills. I took nothing away from this and I didn't feel enriched in any way, shape or form. I was just glad when the whole ordeal was finally over. But, if you've bought their previous albums (their previous Black Peak release was a much better affair, mind you) then I'm sure you'll think I'm an idiot for not getting what they're all about. 3 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
